《野生設計》記錄了作者 2016 至 2017年，將近兩年時間在北京廣州等城市邊緣地區行走觀察的一些想法。他將普通人在日常生活中用設計的方式去解決問題的行為稱為野生設計，這種平民式的非專業設計不但粗糙、廉價、流氓、甚至違法，但卻以一些最基本但又容易被我們忽略的設計邏輯，巧妙地利用有限的材料和空間來服務於生活。本書以考察的行走線路為線索，企圖為讀者展現一個廣大人民群眾經過長期生活實踐創造出來的充滿活力和智慧的精彩世界。

Untamed Design records the author's thoughts and observations during the span of almost two years, from 2016 to 2017, while wandering and exploring on the outskirts of cities like Beijing and Guangzhou. The author refers to the ordinary ways in which people use design to solve problems in their daily lives as "wilded/untamed design." This grassroots, non-professional approach to design may be rough, inexpensive, unconventional, and sometimes even against the law. However, it cleverly employs basic yet often overlooked design logic, making creative use of limited materials and space to serve practical purposes.
